The Angel Cuesta Robusto is a masterful 5 x 50 cigar that represents the pinnacle of the J.C. Newman portfolio. Unlike most modern cigars, these are rolled in a special “The American” room at the El Reloj factory in Tampa, Florida, by an elite team of just two master rollers. The blend features a beautiful, silky Ecuadorian Havana Rosado wrapper that has been aged for several years. This is paired with a binder and filler blend containing tobaccos from three different continents, resulting in a sophisticated “world blend.”
The flavor profile is medium-bodied and remarkably complex. It begins with a distinct savory spice and rich earthiness, which soon softens into a creamy mix of cinnamon, leather, and dried fruit. One of its most unique features is the pigtail cap, which is meticulously hand-rolled to look like a “crown,” honoring its Spanish royal history. Because of the labor-intensive rolling process, these cigars are produced in very limited quantities, making them a true “white whale” for collectors.
